Quaker #BringYourTastiestBowl Challenge Accepted

So what’s with oats? Having a bowl of oats is the worst part of my day. It takes me nearly 2 hours to finish a bowl. What a waste of a morning!

Oats final

So long time back I had moved on to other more tasty breakfast alternatives. But the inevitable happened; one fine day society decided I must marry, which meant I had to lose the bachelor belly that I had developed over the past few years. I joined a gym, got myself a dietician, and what was her breakfast recommendation?  A bowl full of Quaker Oats! After an hour of fruitless arguing with her, I discovered that oats didn’t have to be boring anymore; they could be used as a medium for innovation!

The baker in me was intrigued. Bakery goodies didn’t have to be unhealthy anymore. My partners and I brainstormed, experimented and came up with different desserts using oats that are not only delicious but super healthy. The health benefits of oats are numerous – they not only help you lose weight but also decrease cholesterol, reduce the chances of heart and other diseases and also pack in a whole bunch of nutrients. So an oats muffin for breakfast has now become healthy and nutritious.

Satiating a sweet tooth is a difficult task when you are counting calories, which is why Christmas is my favourite time of the year, since I get to indulge in toothsome desserts, free of any guilt. After replacing the calorie-dense staple ingredients in all the Christmas goodies with oats, it’s like Christmas came early this year!

Having come across Quaker Oats, we have gone pro oats!

We at Cakesutra jumped at the opportunity to participate in Vikas Khanna’s #BringYourTastiestBowl challenge. Get ready for some deliciously baked oats goodies from the house of Cakesutra.
