The Ultimate Ears Megaboom

Logitech India on Monday has announced the launch of a new party speaker UE Megaboom. The wireless speaker is priced at Rs. 19,995 and will be available online on Amazon India starting November 20. The speaker highlights a massive sound output with deep bass, water resistance and excellent battery life, among other things. The speaker would be available in a choice of Lava Red and Black Charcoal colours.

The UE Megaboom was first unveiled in 2015 and delivers 360-degree sound with a maximum audio level of 90dBA. There are two 2-inch drivers and two 2-inch x 4-inch passive radiators that jointly produce a frequency range between 65Hz – 20kHz. The speakers also have a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is claimed to last for up to 20 hours on a single charge.

The speaker is IPX7 rated, which means it can be immersed in water up to 1m for up to 30 minutes. It is about 8-inches tall and weighs around 877 grams. A companion UE app allows you control the speaker from your phone letting you turn the device on or off, pair two speakers together, set musical alarm and control the EQ levels, among other things. The UE Megaboom will provide up to 20 hours of music playback on a single charge and has a Bluetooth range of about 100 feet. The company added during launch that updates can be made to the speaker over the air.

The device is 3.3-inches in diameter, measures 8.9-inch in height and weighs 877 g. The company is offering two-year limited hardware warranty on the product.
